Guang Zhou Baiyun International Airport - Our newest project
Followed by the successful take-off of the Pearl River Delta, China has been transformed to an international fast-growing economy and undergone revolutions of industrialization and civilization. To further achieve the ultimate goal of the Open Door Policy, Guangzhou, being one of the largest and most prosperous cities in Southern China and acting as an important transport hub for foreign and domestic trade for over 2,000 years, has seen increasing importance in its political role and infrastructural planning for the future development of China.
To build Guangzhou into an international metropolis is now inevitable.
Stepping into the 21st century, the Asian-Pacific region is likely to become one of the fastest growing areas in the world. The new domestic and international economic development pattern becomes a real challenge to Guangzhou 's unconventional development. Guangzhou's choice of becoming an international metropolis not only conforms to the tide of the objective requirements of the overall economic and social development of China, but also further deepen s various business reform s , and meets the requirements of Guangzhou's historical and actual needs . The launching of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will have profound and important strategic significance for China in the next decade.
Vast expansion is essential and necessary. The transport volume in China is growing quickly as the economy continues to expand, but air travel is growing at a faster rate than conventional transport as a whole. To facilitate this, the ninth five-year plan envisages a boom in airport capacity as 41 airports in China are built or upgraded.
After four years of intense and extensive construction, the dazzling new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was officially launched on August 5, 2004. The Baiyun Airport is situated in the north of Guangzhou and is designed to replace the old city airport, serving as a window to the world of Guangzhou 's unrelenting modernization and future visage of air transportation in the booming Pearl River Delta.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport - Main Building
Instantly, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the largest airport in Southern China and has become the operational base for China Southern Airlines. Meanwhile, Shanghai Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines have also announced to join this operational base in 2005. The airport is currently the second busiest in China based on passenger flow, and the third largest based on cargo movement. It is forecasted that Baiyun Airport will handle more than 80 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo annually through 2010, posing a threat to Hong Kong's position as Asia 's second biggest air transport hub airport. North of the terminal building, an additional second passenger terminal, apron and linking bridges is planned for the new airport's second phase as the third runway is planned for the future.
The overall ambiance of the main building offers travelers an elegant style with a relaxed cultured modern flavor, illustrating the Pearl River Delta 's transportation “leap forward” into the future. A wide-ranging ground transportation network from Guangzhou city includes an airport express rail service, which will link-up with the current four lines of the Guangzhou subway; and the south-entrance road, which is linked to the new airport highway, northward running through the two paralleled runways and then connected to National Highway 1908. With this convenient ground transportation network, passengers can easily reach the new airport from nearly any direction.
The new airport is at the centre of a number of construction projects, which are driving the local economy of Guangzhou and the surrounding region. The new airport is important to the city as it will help to make the area an even more attractive site for foreign investment.
In light of the tremendous growth of China 's economy, keen competition amongst companies and retail businesses will arise. Thus, a vigorous and strategic marketing campaign is critical in the determination of the success of brand management, which is true to all industries that have a connection with people and the dynamic brands market. Picking up the right media choice has hence become indispensable.
